05 · How it works

From your task to a working tool

1. A 30-minute call.

We map the workflow you want gone: what goes in, what has to come out, and where the time goes today.

2. A concept and a fixed quote.

We work out a short written concept together with you, so it matches what you expect, and you get a fixed price. You decide before anything is built, and you know the full cost up front and there are no surprises later.

3. We build, install & support it.

We test the software with your real files, install it on your machines and keep it running. Bug fixes, minor changes and initial training are included in the quote, and we check the delivered software every week for known security problems.

Runs on your infrastructure. You are in full control of your data.

Checked for security, before and after release. Our software is built from well-tested open-source components. Before each release we check every one of them against public lists of known security problems (using pip-audit) and update anything affected. After delivery we keep checking the exact versions you have installed every week; if a new problem turns up, we release an update and let you know.

Who is behind SWIFT4DATA

Johannes Seif

I did my PhD in solar-cell research, worked as an R&D engineer in industry and managed research projects with partners across Europe. Faced with complex data processing in those jobs, I automated the repetitive parts with tailored software, which gave my colleagues and me more time for the actual analysis. Now I build software that takes that kind of work off your desk, so you can get your time back.

Questions we often hear

  • What does it cost?

    Every workflow is different, so there is no standard rate. After a first call we develop a concept with you and give you a fixed quote. You know the full cost before anything is built, and you decide whether to go ahead.

  • How long does it take?

    From the first call to running software typically takes six to eight weeks. That is a typical project, not a promise: it depends on how complex your workflow is and on the availability of both sides.

  • Does my data leave my machine?

    Only if you want it to. We build both: tools that run on your own computers or servers, where you keep full control of your data, and tools hosted on a server online when your team needs access from anywhere. Which one fits depends on your use case. Sample files you share with us for building and testing are stored securely and deleted on request.

  • Who looks after the software once it is running?

    We help you install it on your systems. After delivery we check the exact versions you have installed every week against public lists of known security problems, and release an update if something turns up. Bug fixes, minor changes and initial training are included in the quote; further training and new features are billed separately.

  • Is my problem too small?

    If someone does it by hand every week, probably not. A couple of hours a week adds up to about two working weeks a year. The 2-minute check shows what your task costs you.

  • Do you only work with solar and water companies?

    No. Our clients so far work in water treatment and photovoltaics, but the pattern is the same anywhere: files come in, someone copies, checks and formats, and a report or a file goes out. If your work has that shape, it can be automated. We work in English, German, French and Spanish.
