From batch folder to report
A desktop app that lets a solar cell R&D team load measurement results, plot statistics and export a report in a customized PowerPoint template, with no scripting.
The problem
Beyond Silicon develops tandem solar cells. Every batch of test cells produces a folder full of measurement files, and judging the batch meant sorting out failures, comparing against earlier batches and building slides for the group.
What we built
SWIFT4DATA built a desktop application that the lab starts with a double-click. The user points it at a batch folder and the app does the rest.
- Reads and summarises the batch: key figures per cell, shown as plots and compared against recent reference samples.
- Filters in one click: failed cells are excluded, by preset or custom limits.
- Exports the result: a PDF preview and a PowerPoint report in the lab's own template.
The result
Batch reports now come from the same filters and the same template every time, in a few clicks.
Key facts
- Client
- Beyond Silicon
- Sector
- Photovoltaics R&D
- Result
- Saves about 3 hours of engineering time per reporting cycle.
“Working with Johannes at SWIFT4DATA was a great experience. His attention to our requirements, responsiveness, and flexibility throughout multiple iterations made remote collaboration across time zones seamless. The resulting J-V app transformed our workflow, empowering operators to monitor measurements, identify errors, and generate reports independently. By saving approximately 3 hours of engineering time per reporting cycle, the app helped accelerate our learning cycles — a critical advantage for a fast-moving startup.”
