Solar module drawings, generated
For SunFlex, SWIFT4DATA built SunFlex DRAW, an in-house tool that turns a solar cell's contact layout into the DXF drawings that drive a laser in PV module production.
The problem
SunFlex develops photovoltaic modules. Every cell in a module needs its own path drawing, and the whole module needs these drawings placed on a grid and connected, in a format the laser processing can use.
What we built
SWIFT4DATA built SunFlex DRAW, a browser-based tool that runs on the client's own computers.
- Define a cell's path by clicking on the cell's own contact drawing. Patterns are saved and reused.
- Build the module by placing cell patterns on a grid; the connections between cells are drawn automatically.
- Export for production as DXF files, ready for laser processing.
The result
Module drawings are put together from saved cell patterns and exported as DXF files, ready for laser processing, instead of being drawn from scratch using costly CAD software.
